The artist is Nalbandan
The picture was created in the anniversary for the head of the party of Joseph Stalin and the Government of 1949 and was shown at two main exhibitions – the All -Union Artistic Exhibition and “Joseph Vissarionovich Stalin in the visual arts”, but the nature of the leader’s image here is fundamentally different from the parade paintings of the era.
The closest associates of Stalin leaned over the map of future forested aids, discussing the plan for the transformation of nature (“for the happiness of the people”): Vyacheslav Molotov, Nikolai Shvernik, Nikolai Bulganin, Anastas Mikoyan, Nikita Khrushchev, Andrey Andreev, Alexei Kosygin, Clement Voroshilov, Georgy Malenkov, Lazar Kaganovich. The leader himself is shown “like everyone else”, “simple and affordable”, albeit in the Marshal uniform, but without all his many orders, only with the star of the Hero of the Soviet Union.
The “simplicity” of the leader was also fundamental and essential for the formed iconography of Stalin. It is also noteworthy that, like the domineering elite, art for its ideological goals, so art has learned to adapt to circumstances. After debunking the cult of the personality of Stalin and the death of Lavrenty Beria, the figure of the latter was the author of the picture well -colored, forming a logical compositional pause between Andreev and Kosygin.
