Blessed Vasily Temple – a monument of Russian architecture of the 16th century, is located on Red Square in Moscow. Was built at the command of Tsar John the Terrible in honor of his military victory. During the years of Soviet power, the cathedral lost its religious function and was turned into a museum. The main square of the Soviet capital was considered the center of the whole country, and the cathedral thus acquired a new sacred status, noting the “heart of the homeland”.
